山东美术馆是中国规模最大的现代美术馆。建筑设计依据大型美术馆的复杂要求完善功能配置，各种公共服务设施配套齐全。多层级的内部空间结构、特色鲜明的自然采光设计以及多种结构形式的综合运用是其主要特点。建筑创作植根于特定的场地条件和齐鲁大地深厚的历史人文内涵，建筑形体呈现为正在渐变中的形态——“山、城相依”，具有山型特征的建筑形体逐渐过渡到方整规则的状态是对济南风土地理特征的恰当诠释。

Shandong Art Museum is the largest modern art museum in China. The design of the building is based on the complex requirements of the large-scale art museum to improve the functional configuration, and all kinds of public service facilities are complete. The multi-level internal space structure, the distinctive natural lighting design and the comprehensive application of various structural forms are its main characteristics. The architectural creation is rooted in the specific site conditions and the profound historical and humanistic connotation of the land of Qi and Lu. The architectural form is in gradual change -- "mountains and cities are interdependent". The architectural form with the characteristics of mountains gradually transitions to the state of square integration rules, which is an appropriate interpretation of the geographical characteristics of Jinan.
